We needed a partial survey for our house to get a general M.O.T., identifying issues to fix now, or that would affect a future sale. A free damp survey by a specialist company suggested injecting a chemical DPC, which would have involved extensive work and hassle. Tim at Weald and City advised how this would be inappropriate for an older property and sent, without obligation, full details of current best practice. He worked out a bespoke survey for us, providing a detailed plan to follow and helpful background information on damp, ventilation, energy efficiency, relevant building techniques and materials. The general report on the house, area and current market was a welcome bonus. We avoided spending about £4000 on work that would have put us in a worse position, as well as getting a masterclass, tailored to our home, on the care and restoration of period, if humble, properties. An excellent investment.

Flexible and accommodating with a couple challenges that arose and proactively tried to help resolve issues that he had no obligation to help with at all. Scammers and happy to take peoples money for a 4 hour day for false reports and when challenged with regard to their findings they refuse to answer , 39 issues and 38 of them were incorrect they have no idea of period properties and how they were built and they have no idea on current guidelines and legislations and they refuse to answer why they think they are right and legal requirements are wrong - PLEASE THINK ABOUT USING THEM - they couldn’t care less if you lose your dream home they have their £1600 in bank - this happened to me scared a lady so much buying a house on her own even saying possible asbestos in loft - the house was refurbished in 2005 all ceilings roof joist ripped down and the house was internal shell - but they put abestos back even though abestos was no longer available from 1996 - there reply NO COMMENT- but by this time my lady was terrified, also said no damp proof again house was built in 1861 damp proofing wasn’t introduced until 1920 approx but the house was I injected with damp proofing in 2005 and certificate produced by us stating valid until 2038 but again NO COMMENT- this is just a few things but major causing loss of my buyer , the rest of the report is hysterical, I am happy to share his report as I feel my duty to warn people if this company and they will cause you much sadness and a big debt in your bank account - PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE for a surveyor

Weald & City carried out a Level 3 survey for me on a complex period property and I couldn’t have asked for more. The report was extremely detailed and comprehensive, giving me a clear picture of the property and its potential risks. It also combined thorough technical detail with clear explanations I could actually understand. Tim’s attention to detail is second to none, and having such a comprehensive report gave me a lot of reassurance at such an important stage in the purchase. Tim has gone above and beyond in giving post-survey advice and taking the time to answer follow-up questions. They are a small team and clearly very much in demand, so I feel very fortunate they were able to take on my survey. I would highly recommend them.

I don’t like to give bad reviews ever however I have to say that my house survey on this occasion was not completely good . Yes they pointed out my roof problems but a ground floor thorough inspection was not made and it turned out I had a rotten floor which needed replacing so no not completely happy with my survey

I had a very positive experience using Weald & City for a Level 3 survey. Timothy, the surveyor assigned to the job, was exceptionally prompt and helpful in all his communications. The survey itself was extremely informative, particularly due to the effective use of multimedia to clearly outline the findings. Although the survey led us to withdraw from the purchase, it turned out to be a positive outcome - it revealed a number of significant issues we were not prepared to take on. I found the service to be of very high quality, and the pricing was extremely competitive. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we couldn’t use Weald & City for our next full survey. However, Timothy went above and beyond by providing a quick desktop review of several properties we were considering. Thanks to that input, we ended up making an offer on one of them. Having had to use a different surveyor for the next stage, I appreciated the professionalism and quality of Weald & City’s service even more. Kudos to the team for running such a fantastic service.
